The kids came home today after being gone for a week. The house has felt awkwardly empty since they left. Mia has definitely felt the difference, she's really missed everyone. Now they're back and I'm getting nervous. I'm hoping to have a new attitude this year in regards to being a step mom. I'm going to try and pick my battles and not let little things make me bitter. All in all I like having the kids. I know their lives, and mine, are better because of how everything worked out. So, we'll just take it one day at a time.

Well, so far this year has started out wonderfully! I have big hopes and aspirations for the next 12 months and I'm hoping with all my heart that it's better than expected.
